Yesterday, on Tuesday November 9th, 2010 Kevin popped the big question after much anticipation and anxiety (again mostly on my part). We both had work and throughout the day I had been texting Kevin about how anxious I was for the big moment. We have been talking about getting married for a month, and had picked out rings and I had finally met his folks and I was just dying for it to happen (clearly my patience level needs work). He told me that we needed to go back to Goldsmiths, the jewelers, because they needed to re size my finger to make sure the band was the right size. I thought it was weird because I know we had already done that but I thought since it was custom made it made sense. After work Kevin picked me up. He was dressed in his slacks and dress shirt and I just had thought he had come straight from work so I didn't think to much of it. I was dressed in my jeans and cute new top I'd never worn before (Kevin pointed out that he'd never seen the shirt before and liked it = major points). We drove to Goldsmiths and parked in the parking lot. I still had no clue what was coming at this point. Kevin got out of the car and grabbed a blindfold from the trunk.. I honestly still thought he was just going to blindfold so I didn't see the diamond on the band (i can be a little clueless sometimes). It really wasn't until I said, "you're really going to blindfold me?" than he said, "we aren't going to Goldsmiths!". Yay :) He started to walk me to the building (The Zions Bank Building in Provo). i was so excited but didn't like being blindfolded, i thought i was going to run into things, which i did. the first door we went through my right shoulder caught! the rest of the way was pretty bruise less. We got in an elevator that told us we had arrived on the 8th floor. i don't like heights :) when Kevin told me i could take off the blindfold he was down on one knee! Most magical moment ever!! He said some cute things like, i love you, i wanna spend the rest of my life with you, etc.... and then he asked. I said YES! The room we were in was so beautiful. It looked out over the city and we towards the snow covered mountains. We could also see the Provo temple. It was wonderful. Kevin then pulled out the big guns and played me one of our favorite songs, Brad Paisley's THEN on his guitar. He even sang along. It was so sweet. After we had dinner served :) it was great. Brooke and Jessica were in on the WHOLE thing and they played our little waitresses for dinner. We had PF Changs and sparkling white grape cider for dinner. So cute. Candles lit, zebra print place mats and roses :) Kevin is such a stud. Then we had desert. Chocolate Raspberry Cake and a Cheesecake. So yummy. To wrap it all up we danced to some of our favorite songs. Best Night ever. Kevin did such an amazing job with the proposal and did an even better job keeping it a secret for so long. I am so lucky to have such a great guy who is romantic.
Called our parents, family and close friends and everyone is so excited for us. Of course we posted it on facebook as well and Kevin was laughing at how many people started responding so quickly. I think as of this morning we are well over 100 comments. Kevin and I feel so loved and are so excited to share our story with everyone! We cannot wait to get to spend Eternity with each other <3
