Monday Mommy Moment

Happy Monday Readers!

Sorry it's been a week + since I have written. Our computer "Herbert" got sick last week and has been at the repair shop recovering. Hopefully the Mr. brings him home later this evening. (Gonna try to post on my SLOW laptop for now)

Did anyone see this commercial last night during the Oscars?
I sobbed as I watched and listened and thought about how in just a handful of months my little boy will be here!

I have been letting it sink in since we found out Baby KFo was in fact 'Baby Boy', that I will soon be up to my neck in blue, sports, dirt, GI Joe, cub scouts and more dirt!
I am not sure that I am really prepared for all of the little things that come with having a boy. In a family with four sisters and only one brother, our barbies and dress up outweighed his Tonka trucks and Legos by a ton. I had always imagined that when I started my own family, I would have a girl first, at least I would know what I was doing to start.

I have been reading blogs and talking with friends who have had a son first and their stories all seem to echo each other. Everyone has promised me that having a boy first is wonderful.

Words cannot describe how excited I am that baby boy is on his way, but I will admit I am a little intimated by my sweet son already.

Just this evening on the news they showed a young boy who snuck out of his house in the middle of the night to fight crime with his Nerf gun. Luckily he didn't find any bad guys and was picked up by the police in his neighborhood and returned home safely. Could I handle that?

One book I am anxious to read is, 'How to tuck in a Superhero". I am always interested in reading new books and so a book on having a son is sure to be a winner.

What suggestions or words of advice to you mothers of sons have?!
I'd love to hear what experienced mommies have to say! Please share.

Tomorrow is our twenty-week doctor's apt to make sure baby boy is growing properly. I am always so anxious to see his littleness on the black and white screen and tomorrow's ultrasound is supposed to last thirty minutes. I feel spoiled that I will get to stare at him for so long! I also get to add the ultrasound to the DVD the doctors office is making for us so I can watch him at home whenever I want.

Today I was feeling a little homesick as I saw a commercial for vacationing in California. Mom is planning a baby shower for me in April back home and I cannot believe that when I head home for that, it will have been SIX MONTHS since my last visit. That is the longest I have EVER gone without visiting home.
Guess that means I'm growing up huh?!?!

Well, better get dinner started. Husband is on his way home and we are watching the Bachelor tonight. (Don't judge us. It's just so ridiculous and unreal that we get a kick out of it.)

Here is my twenty-week baby bump photo (in case you missed it on Facbeook)
Finally little boy is making an appearance.

Don't forget to share your tips mommies!

Nineteen Weeks.

Today marks 19 weeks into my pregnancy!

Here I am at 19 weeks. I honestly feel like the shape and size of my stomach changes all day. Some moments its sticking noticeably further out then usual, and then an hour later the bump disappears. Kevin and I took our weekly photo and this one seemed to capture baby boy sitting in just the right spot to make me pop more than I usually do. This is my first baby so I honestly don't know when that bump is supposed to permanently pop and make it more obvious to people I'm pregnant and not over weight. I compare myself to the adorable girls at work who are just weeks ahead of me and think, 'my baby must be tiny'. At my doctors appointment on Tuesday the nurse said I had actually lost weight since my first visit. That kind of worried me but she assured me everything looks good and sometimes that happens. The nurse also reminded me that my baby weighs just about half of a pound. So crazy he is still so tiny.

I work with some amazing women at work, a lot of whom are already mommies and they have assured me soon enough my belly will pop out! I am actually anxiously awaiting that time.

I cannot believe next week I will be half way done and a few short months after that I will finally get to meet my SON

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend. The husband is golfing this afternoon with some buddies. I have a few hours to make up at the office then I might sneak away for some baby shopping.
I am looking for lots of fun things I can use for the nursery! I cannot wait to see the guest room transform to something maybe like this:

Any readers have thoughts on Nursery "MUST HAVES" I should keep my eye out for? Let me know.

Happy Weekend Readers!

Valentine's Day twenty-twelve

Remember this picture from almost a year ago?
03.18.2011
Crazy how this silly little mistake of overbooking the church house the day of our reception predicted one of the most amazing moments in our lives.
Valentine's day this year topped the rest... by a long shot.
Yesterday, Kevin and I were able to go to Dr. J's office and the lovely ultrasound tech, Lindsey, gave us the most incredible news.
It's a BOY!

When we got in the ultrasound room, Kevin kept calling Baby KFo "him" and Lindsey asked if he knew something she didn't. About a minute later she announced; "Good Guess Dad". It was an overwhelming incredible moment. She pointed to the screen so we could see the discovery. I was so caught up in my little one on the screen that I glanced at Kevin just once to see him smiling, but apparently missed a little emotion he showed as he received the news!
We also discovered that our son is quiet stubborn. During the whole ultrasound he was head down in my bladder. Lindsey tried to get him to move around but all he did was kick his legs a little. No cute profile ultrasound photo but it was so amazing to see that he finally looks like a little person.
I go back in two weeks for my twenty week ultrasound, where he will be measured to make sure everything is growing properly and I cannot wait to see him again! I am already so completely in love with my little boy.

Kevin took me to an early dinner at La Jolla Groves in Provo. It was amazing to enjoy an evening out together and since we went right after the doctors appointment we missed the crazy Valentines Day crowds. I think we both sat there the majority of the time repeating out loud over and over, "we are having a son!"
Fruit Plate Appetizer
Italian Cream Soda
The Main Course
Dessert
Dinner was so yummy (except I was sick today possibly from the food) and I really enjoyed trying something new.

We went to Babies R Us on the way home and picked up two little wall hangings for the nursery. I have decided a Noah's ark theme is what I would like to do for the nursery, so the two wall hangings of an adorable giraffe and elephants were perfect!

Kevin and I kept gifts simple and sweet this year.
Kevin spoiled me with a mini shopping spree at JoAnn's to get paper, glue, and lots of other goodies I needed to use my Cricut that my parents got me for my birthday. Luckily for him I used my new tools and Cricut to make Kevin a little flip book of the ABC's of my love for him. It was fun to give him something homemade and personal. He thought it was pretty cool. I also had a lovely surprise waiting for me at work Tuesday morning.

Kevin's gift to me.

The final product

I cannot think of anything that could have made this Valentine's Day better. Got to spend it with my TWO favorite men and it was just perfect.

What did you do for the lovers holiday readers?

Oh, and how cute are our little neighbors? Josie and Landon decorated our door with lots of hearts about the baby's gender. A great surprise when we got home.
They even helped us take this picture to remember the day.

Hope everyone had a wonderful day and spoiled their loved ones <3

Boy or Girl?

Baby Kevin or Baby Kyla?

Tomorrow is the big day! My doctors appointment is set for tomorrow afternoon where we get to find out if baby Kfo is a little Kevin or a little Kyla.
We have been counting down the days for weeks now as we have tried to let it sink in that we are about to either have a son or a daughter.

It makes it all seem so much more real to think that we are almost half way down with this baby making adventure (for the first go around) and that in a few short month our little one will be here!

We are so excited and can't wait to share the news with all of you readers!!

Did you cast your vote?

Boy or girl?

Let us know!

Hope everyone has a lovely Valentines Day tomorrow. You should be telling the ones you love everyday but go ahead and get a little crazy about tomorrow! Say "I love you" a million times, take her out to a fancy dinner, get her flowers, get him that little thing he wanted that he wouldn't have expected, and my favorite; hold hands and kiss a lot in public!
