It's getting HOT in here.

Hot List.

Baby Hunter.
-Hunter got a BUMBO this week
(yes its used but I didn't want a silly safety strap but DON'T worry, I will NOT be putting my child on a table in this thing and purchased it strictly for sitting training).
So far baby H loves it.
-These ADORABLE Tiger Claw Leggings from Thief & Bandit Kids are my new obsession. These and another super cute pair are on order for Hunter. Getting his closet "style" ready for colder weather.

Mommy.
-I posted the photo of my Route 44 Diet Dr. Pepper on Instagram with the caption "One of those days"... lets be honest though, It has definitely been one of those WEEKS.
(#mygotodrink #sodamakeseverythingbetter #44ouncesisntenough)
-Last Sunday we went on a family drive and came across a beautiful home in Pleasant Grove. Kevin was able to get the lock box code and we were able to walk around inside.
It was seriously one of my favorite house's we have ever looked at. I loved everything about the layout and it had INCREDIBLE views of the lake and the temple.
(Don't start any rumors... we are NOT buying a house anytime soon!)

Daddy.
-This week Kev admitted he has a new favorite pair of dress socks. He wears slacks and a dress shirt EVERYDAY for work and a few weeks ago I bought him these fun socks from Target.
I am pretty sure he wore them at least three times this week.
Thank goodness I do laundry every night.
-Kev got a gift card to overstock.com this week and with it purchased a new entertainment center.
We have been using a white shelving unit, that doesn't match ANY of our furniture, to hold the TV since we got married. This new TV stand is much more sophisticated, matches our furniture and will allow us to put the DVD player somewhere besides the floor.
It's so pretty.

We are loving sharing our HOT LIST with our readers each week.
What is something on your Hot List this week?

I cannot believe our little blog has made it to it's
100th post!
This is a huge Milestone for Ford-Ology.
I realize almost two years of blogging and just getting to 100 is weak compared to other blogs but for us it's been moving along just right.

This blog started out as a way for me to keep family and friends up to date on what was happening with KFoSquared. Then it evolved into up to date details on our family of three out here in Utah, however as I throw myself deeper into the blogging world, I find myself sharing so many different aspects of our lovely life with all of you.

I am anxious to continue growing my weekly features and blog more of
everyday lifestyle
From food to fashion, and hot products to product reviews.
You can look for more posts on diy projects, more recipes, music, sponsors and giveaways. Also more on mommy days, faith, trials and love.
And of course the same updates on baby Hunter and our family.

I hope you will continue to follow us on this journey.

We are anxious to get to know all of our readers and encourage the comments and emails!
We love hearing from you!

So, what better way to kick off a great milestone than with our FIRST Giveaway.

Three Months Old.

Is it possible with each month that passes I fall more and more in love with this little guy?!
Because I do.
(I am pretty sure Kevin does also)

Happy Three Months Hunter Edward.

(Three Month Photo Shoot Bloopers)

At THREE Months Old...
I am 15 pounds. Getting So Big.
I sleep from 10:30 until 7:30 EVERY NIGHT
(I have never seen my mommy and daddy so happy)
I finally outgrew newborn diapers and clothes.
I love to stand on my legs. Mommy says I am so strong.
My favorite part of the day is when Daddy gets home from work.
(I hang out with mom all day and so I talk dad's ear off when he gets home for some MAN time)
I love to be held.
I love my bath time.
My favorite movie is Aladdin.

And did you hear?
My best friend Calvin Nicholes finally joined me down here on earth!
Best day ever.

Friday's Hot List.

Here is this week's HOT LIST.

Hunter.
-Baby Hunter FINALLY outgrew Newborn clothes. It was a very exciting day when we retired a handful of Newborn outfits to storage.
-Hunter got a travel stroller this week! As we get ready for our Southern California trip in October we are rounding up some travel necessities for baby's first trip.
Mommy.
-This week I have been trying out NuSkin's rejuvenating cream and I LOVE IT!
I have been looking for a good face lotion for awhile, trying out several products and this is the first one that leaves my face feeling fresh all day (even with my makeup on).
I would recommend it to anyone!
-I have been catching up on all my Fall Fashion this week. Vogue & Elle are my favorite Fall Fashion Magazines. Hundreds of pages of clothes I could never afford and probably couldn't rock either. A girl can dream though right?
Daddy.
-Kevin is anxious to start his daily workouts again (since Baby arrived there hasn't been much time for the gym) and so he purchased some at home work out equipment. A workout bench and a set of dumbbells now reside in the living room.
It's days like this where I start to imagine what it will be like when we own a home one day and are not trying to MAKE space for all of our things!

Did you have a HOT LIST worthy product this week?
Tell us.

Happy Last Day of Summer Readers.
(In case you needed a good laugh)

New Hair.

Bangs.

I am kind of obsessed.

Ready for Fall and ready to rock my fresh mom look.
(I wont lie. I was kind of terrified. Bangs can be amazing or an epic fail. Amazing Right?)

Tell me your best/worst hair stories. Leave a comment.

Before.

After.

Truly Blessed: Hunters Blessing Day.

We blessed our sweet baby
 Hunter
on
Sunday, September 2nd, 2012
in the
Orchard Hills Ward
of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
in
American Fork Utah.

He was surrounded by so many incredible men who will be influential to him throughout his life.

He was blessed by his father, a worthy priesthood holder.

It was a beautiful day.
The sun was shinning and our closest family and friends joined us to celebrate.
We are so grateful to everyone who came to share this day with us, especially our parents who came from Seattle and Sacramento to be there for Hunter.

We love you all.
We are Truly Blessed.

Now, Enjoy some Photos of The Blessing Day.
Bloopers of course.

The Grandfathers & GreatGrandfathers.

The Decor.

People Came I promise.

Blessing days are exhausting.
(After everyone had gone home)

xoxo.

PS. Sorry I am two and half weeks late blogging about the blessing.
I had an emotional breakdown because there were A LOT of photos that didn't get taken that day that I really wanted.
Sensitive Subject.
I am still recovering.

Going Old School.

Remember these?

This weekend we picked up a $5 VHS player and a handful of Video Cassettes for $.50 each.
We watched Disney's Halloween Sing a long, in preparation for our Disneyland trip next month, and it instantly took us down memory lane.

We rolled our eyes at the grainy quality of the film.
We laughed at how old we felt as the narrator announced the featured film would be available on video cassette November of 1999!

It's amazing how technology has changed.

We both think its neat that Hunter is going to get to experience some of the classic movies we grew up with, the same way we did.

What is your favorite childhood movie from the VHS days?
Tell us.

Sponsor Spotlight: Meet Nicole of Consider The Lilies.

I am so excited to introduce you to Nicole of Consider The Lilies.
I am honored to have an old friend as my first Sponsor Spotlight and hope you fall in love with her blog as I have.
I adore how much Nicole loves her sweet husband. I am in awe of her relationship with her Savior and enjoy all of her photos. She is such a talented photographer and writer.

Meet Nicole.

Hello readers of Ford-Ology! I'm so happy to be over here sharing a bit about myself and my blog, Consider the Lilies. My name is Nicole and I'm a Christ-follower, wife to my best friend Jeff, momma to my fur baby Turbo, photographer, and part-time barista!

Right now I'm working at Starbucks part-time and pursuing my dream of owning a photography business. I have a love/hate relationship with Starbucks but it's consistent income until I feel God tells me that I can do photography full time! I do however make a mean caramel macchiato.

I'm an artist at heart and adore all things creative. I constantly redecorate my house and find DIY projects on pinterest that I can't wait to create. I feel so blessed that God would call me to a creative career path. I'm able to see the world differently through my lens and pray that God would use my photography for His glory. I also love reality tv, holy goodness do I love me some E! :)

Consider the Lilies began in 2010 right before my husband deployed to Iraq. We had just gotten married and I needed an outlet, somewhere safe where I could spill my heart and document the feelings inside. For a while that's all it was, and I was able to connect with military wives across the world. I was encouraged by their words and felt less alone, which was something that carried me through deployment. Little did I know, two years later, how awesome blog world would become to me. Some of my best friends are bloggers. Wild, right?!  I've met SO many awesome women through this creative outlet and it's become something bigger than I ever expected. I have so much fun designing my blog, editing pictures, and connecting with people from all over the world through this little hobby of mine. It's a great way to keep people up to date on our lives and a public journal of memories to look back on for years to come.

My must read, never miss a post, go to blog is "Enjoying the Small Things" by Kelle Hampton. By far, the most inspiring writer I have ever come across. Pop on over there to see what I'm talking about..I promise you won't be disappointed.

Thanks for sharing a little bit of yourself with our readers Nicole.
We love Consider The Lilies.

First Kiss.

Almost two years ago to the day, Kevin and I had our first kiss parked out front of the Utah State Fair.
After dinner at The Mayan (which doesn't exist anymore) we made our way over to the fairgrounds.
After two weeks of dating and plenty of chances to kiss me sooner, our first last kiss was perfect.

On Saturday we relived that first kiss moment.

I am always amazed when I look back at how far we have come in two years and how blessed we truly are.

We took Hunter and walked around the fairgrounds.
It was hot, crowded and I had a sudden germ panic attack!
We didn't stay long but we got a few cute pictures.

Hunter's face KILLS me in these Photos.
He has so much personality all ready!

Make it a great week readers!

Changing colors, steaming hot drinks, cool weather, heavy blankets, the return of my favorite shows, fun Holidays and of course Fall Fashion.

Thank you for making your way back to Utah.
I am so looking forward to the 90 days we will spend together!
Love,
Kyla

New: Friday's Hot List.

Happy FRIDAY Readers.

I have decided to add another weekly feature to my blog.
Each Friday I will be sharing a few of my favorite things of the week.
Clothes, foods, products, TV & Movies, books, stores.. you name it.
Anything hubby, baby or I consider HOT for our week.
It will all be here in this new feature I'm calling "Hot List"
Enjoy!

Turns out all of the items on this weeks Hot List are PRODUCTS.

Top row are hot items for baby Hunter
-Aden & Anais swaddles as he grows bigger and to keep him warmer as the nights get cooler.
-Boogie Wipes after his monster BOOGERY sneezes.
(Hunter loves these. Soft on baby's nose and has saline in them to break up the mucus)
Next row is for Mom.
-Amazing purple skinnies I bought at Nordstrom Rack a few weeks back are still sitting in the bag, on my floor, in the bedroom BEGGING me to wear them. Maybe tomorrow?!
-New Bare Minerals Foundations. I decided to switch from my normal BM foundation when the lady in the shop gave me the mini make-over with it. It looked great. Sadly, it may be a shade to light (I look GHOSTLY white) and is causing me to breakout.
I am really hoping the breakouts are from stress and being sick all week because I really do love the way the new foundation feels on my skin.
Last row is Dad.
The sickest of us all this week.
-He's been wearing these sexy surgical masks to protect baby Hunter and I from his vicious cough. (Seriously it's been 6 days and counting of deep chest coughs, coming home from work early and headaches. Poor Dad)
-And of course cough drops for a little relief.

We are going to the Utah State Fair tomorrow.
What are your plans?

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Never Forgotten.

One day I will have to sit my son down and tell him a part of our nation's history.
I will tell him how early one Tuesday morning, much like today, I heard our telephone ring and my father yell from his room.
I will tell him how my parents, brother, sister and I sat in front of our television and watched a terrorist attack on our country.
It all seemed surreal.
Things like this just didn't happen.

Eleven years later and the events of that day are as fresh as if it were yesterday.

I spent the morning looking at photos and videos to remember.
I was able to pull out a few photos of my own from when I traveled to New York the summer after the attacks, and I remember the somber feelings at ground zero nine months later.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who were lost.
Our country will forever be grateful to the men and women who risked their lives to help others.

Hunter's First FHE.

Tonight for FHE we, being Mommy & Daddy, created a Pedigree chart for Hunter.

We followed an activity out of the "FHE for Newlyweds" book we have used before. (See here)
We love this book because it is full of great activities!

We found a roll of paper and charted it all out. From Hunter up to his great grandparents.
(We had to call our mothers for some information on the GREAT Grandparents)

Mommy did the writing.
Daddy did the drawings.
Hunter did the sleeping.
Yup, Hunter apparently got bored real quick.

But, we finished the activity and as soon as we were done and mentioned dessert, he was wide awake
(I am guessing this is a foretelling of future family FHE's)

I am so grateful that we are doing FHE and reading scriptures (although we should be better at this part) with Hunter already. I know that by making these things a priority now, we will continue to do them with as our family grows!

Happy Monday Readers!
