Summer is here, it's HOT and I am in full mommy, comfortable, STAY COOL style mode.
This months How We Wore It Fashion Collab was amazing and just up my style alley.
Our inspiration for June casuals came from Robyn who blogs over at Robyn Vilate.
My favorite thing about Robyn is that her style is COMPLETELY relatable, chic, and I love how as a mom I can see myself actually wearing outfits she wears.
Robyn's outfit in this post is perfect.
Just what I'd wear on an afternoon out running errands with the kids.
Converse shoes, skinnies, camo shirt and a hat!
SPOT ON ROBYN!!
Here's my take on it:
I had similar pieces in my closet and I was anxious to "throw" on something for the day that I could actually wear ALL day with my busy schedule.
I opted for a black Steve Madden shoe.
These shoes are so comfortable and are perfect for a casual look.
These are my favorite skinnies that I recently purchased from Bella Ella Boutique.
I love the length, the faded blue and how I can dress them up or keep 'em causal.
Staple for every mom's closet.
A simple black V-Neck Tee from Old Navy. My favorite part about this V-Neck is that it's light weight and breathes, which is perfect during these 100+ degree days we are having.
It was also on sale for $5 so that's always a bonus.
I bought this hat originally for my trip to Disneyland a few years ago.
I'm not generally a big baseball cap wearing gal, I only have two in my wardrobe, however I loved how it changed up my look for a day.
The hardest thing for me to decide each morning is what I'm gonna do with my long, thick, wavy mop of hair and it usually just gets tossed back in a braid.
I loved that I could let my hair down, show off my color and curl, and not be fighting those pestering hairs in my face.
FIVE YEARS ago today my younger brother passed away.
It still seems a little unreal to say, type or even THINK those thoughts.
How can it have already been five years since the last time I saw that handsome smile of yours?
Or heard that belly laugh, your funny jokes or one of your serious thoughts?
I miss you so much.
I spent the better half of my morning crying.
I had to turn off the radio because the tears kept flooding and my little kids didn't understand why mommy was so sad.
I wish they could understand.
I wish they could know and miss you to.
We went up the canyon, like we do every year, to the place we spent one of our last days with you, to write you letters and then sent them up to heaven.
The kids loved it.
It made me happy.
This isn't the post I had planned to share, however, I've been working on a project and it just didn't come together in time (to my approving) to post today.
So instead I'll honor, remember and miss you by sharing the photos from our afternoon in the canyon on your day.
Your angel day.
I love you Hunter Blackstone Goold.
Looks like Mom, Dad & Kenna sent ya some balloons to!
It brings me to tears to think how fast the last three years have gone.
In the Fall our handsome little guy will be going to Preschool, he's learning to ride a "big boy bike", and in the new year, he'll be in Primary.
It has been three of the best years of my life.
Hunter Boy, your bring so much love, laughter and learning into our home.
Your smile lights up any room and your charm melts me into a big sappy puddle of butter.
I am so grateful for the time you chose to come to our family and I know you are a special spirit gift from heaven.
Happy 3rd Birthday Hunter Edward.
