Meet Brittany.
Who am I? Oh, boy.
I was born in a tiny, brown & smelly town in mid-California. I moved to the mountains of Sonora, California only a few hours later. I continued to move until age 20, living in 13 different places by age 10. I eventually landed in Northern Utah to attend the University. I've been here ever since.
I like books, talking about relationships, cupcakes, glitter, peanut butter m&ms, mugs, school supplies, scarfs, side ponies, mustaches, IKEA, painting things, & being a pseudo-vegetarian (no cloven hooves for me, please!).
I'm an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint. Yes, I'm a Mormon. & I'm a liberal. We do exist.
I fancy myself a rebel of sorts & refuse to do things simply because it's the social norm. I've been called a hippie, a hipster, & a weirdo by more than a few. I embrace them all.
My passion in life is social change & awareness. I'm fascinated by human behavior. I currently work in the addiction recovery field & I love watching people change for the better.
I was raised by a sassy southern woman & a hippie Hoosier dude. I like to think I got the best from them both.
John Lennon is my favorite Beatle. I love lefties, redheads, people with two different colored eyes & dudes with ginger beards. I plan on naming all my children after classic rock songs: Ruby Tuesday, Lucy, Jude, etc. I name my plants after my favorite celebrities.
The entire point of my personal blog is that it's my little corner of the internet to talk about "my social prerogative". I've learned as a Mormon liberal/democrat that often my religion is incredibly misunderstood & misjudged. Hence, I'm here to prove that we're not all the same. Mormons come in all shapes, sizes, political persuasions, etc. My blog is my spot to talk about things I'm passionate about. I refuse to back down or stay quiet simply because my ideas my not be popular or common place. I'm here to "afflict the comfortable" & make people use that massive organ in their skulls. Challenge me & I'll challenge you. Isn't that the whole point. Let's debate. As long as you keep it civil & friendly, I'm always up for a meeting of the minds.
