Mom Hair. Dont Care.

It's been OVER TWO years since I last got my hair cut.
I've been working hard to get my length, but mostly my natural color back.
I've gone from natural, to platinum, to DEEP red and back a few times since High School and the older I've gotten the more I appreciate my natural color.
Yes, it's unique but it's beautiful.
It's a look I inherited from my mother and a look I (so far) have passed on to my daughter.
I love it.

When I finally decided I needed my hair done, I knew I wanted it done by someone who understood my color, would appreciate I wanted to keep my length and was knowledgeable on styles.
I was so excited when an old family friend, Savannah, contacted me about coming to Mark Anthony Salon for my cut.

The salon is located on Main Street in Springivlle.
It's easy to find and in the cutest old building that gives it that old fashion charm.
The salon is very clean, organized and looks great.
Mark Anthony Salon is an Aveda concept Salon.
They strive to live the Aveda mission and use only Aveda color and products.
I was super impressed.

Savannah was amazing.
She not only made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process but actually told me what she was doing and why she was doing what she did.
It's always fun to go to the salon and talk (like woman like to do) and Savannah and I did plenty of that, but I was also so grateful for the time she took to explain the process through out.

I was tossing ideas of what I wanted my hair to look like when I decided I needed to get a cut.
I pulled up a few ombre strawberry blonde colors, bangs and layered looks, but in the end decided to go for a healthy cut and a color to help better blend my regrowth.

Savannah used Aveda's Extra Lifting Creme with pastel yellow and 40 volume developer.
She lightly painted it on to lift my hair while still giving me the brighter golden tone to match my natural growth.
For the products she used Smooth Infusion Style Prep and then Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight mixed with a little Confixor liquid gel.

Did you know that when using products on your hair you never want to use more than 3 products at a time?
More than 3 will weigh your hair down and make it feel heavy and gross.

So fun the things you can learn when you are getting your hair done by a real PRO!

I am so happy with how it turned out.
It definitely wasn't as drastic or daring as I thought I might try, however it is amazing how healthy my hair looks and feels.
Just what I needed.
