In the January edition of the Ensign (a published magazine from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints), there is an article titled: "What Happily Married Couples Do". Kevin and I read this article a few weeks ago for Family Home Evening and I was very pleased to discover that MOST of the points covered in the article already apply to our marriage. Some of the topics included; have positive conversations, be sensitive to each other's stress levels, date frequently, eliminate anger, and remember that you are each others therapist's. The one topic that I know Kevin and I have mastered is
DATE FREQUENTLY.
Since our first date back in September of 2010, when Kevin took me up Provo Canyon for a quaint little bonfire, we have dated almost every single day. Dating is so important in any relationship. A date early on can tell you if this could be the man or woman you might marry or if it's just another friend. Dating during marriage is important to keep that spark alive that started it all.
Friday night The Mr. and I decided to go out for the evening. We (OK maybe just me and my pregnant self) were craving Chinese Food and we found a little hidden gem right here in American Fork. We ate at China Isle and it was wonderful. A cute little place right of 500 East that we will definitely be returning to.
We ordered Walnut Shrimp and Sesame Chicken and of course it was WAY too much food for just the two of us, luckily Kevin doesn't mind leftovers.
After a delicious meal, Kevin decided to give me an inside look at The Lindon Indoor Golf Club. It was very cool to be able to play golf while it was 15 degrees outside. The facility has putting area's, a driving range and even a simulator where you can play golf courses from around the world.
It was a lovely evening out with The Mr.
This afternoon Kevin and I were able to go see Brian Regan at Abrevenal Hall in Salt Lake. It's always fun to escape and have a good laugh, especially with a hot husband!
I adore all of the moments he and I get to spend together. I am grateful that we have continued to date during our marriage and that it continues to strengthen our relationship. That we are able to escape our daily grind and focus on each other. I love that we can talk, laugh, hold hands and kiss in public. I am so blessed to have such an incredible husband and appreciate all he does to support us and our life and our little baby KFo.
Did you have a date night this week?
