Boring eh? It's a huge second bedroom with lots of potential.
It's doubled as a guest room/future baby room until recent events have caused team Nursery to kick team guest room to the curb.
(Except that bed will stay in there until after my mother returns home from staying with us for a couple weeks after Baby Kfo Arrives.)
I need your help bloggers! I see so many cute ideas for nursery's and I have no clue where to start. I have a few more weeks to gather up some ideas before we find out the sex of the baby and I want to hear your ideas!
If its a boy, I would love to do a Noah's ark theme. If it's a girl.... No clue. My mom suggested dragonflies which I think would be cute. I don't want to just do random flowers everywhere for a girl nursery.
Because we are still renting, I can't paint the walls so I need some creative ways to spice up the area without paint. Do the decal things work? You know the stick on ones? Our walls are kinda bumpy so I worry about that also.
Our walls are also really light tan (very neutral) so keep that in mind.
You will notice we have almost all of the furniture we need, just missing that amazing rocking chair from Pottery Barn I am dying to have (see the ones I love here ). Do you think we should have the crib and changing station painted? I like the neutral color because I can use them again for our next baby but I also feel like they would be so cute in some accent colors.
Colors, themes, wall hangings, you name it! I wanna hear it bloggers. Send me links to your favorite nursery sites and/or photo's of things you are friends have done!
Thanks for your your help readers! I always know I can count on you guys.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Kyla, if you leave the furniture neutral you can go wild with bumper and sheet fabrics. So much fun ahead! You can look at fabrics or catalogs to see what rings your bell until you find out the sex
ReplyDelete("{, so few surprises in life!). Love you tons & missing the heck out of your smiling face!
There are ways to starch fabric to walls-I've seen an entire wall covered with fabric. I almost did a scalloped fabric trip in Daisy's room, but lost momentum. Her room is also home to my sewing table and art desk. I also liked covering canvases with fabrics I love. I can get you some websites for unique fabrics if you like. I also liked having a general theme based on a color scheme-I felt like I had more freedom and the plan was able to adapt over time.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you! Planning is a lot of fun.
If it's a girl you could make it kind of classy and use some of the centerpieces from your wedding :) I love the vintage, sweet girly stuff like that and I think you could make a little girl's room look really sweet and classy with that sort of style :D
ReplyDeletei think you should paint the crib and changing station!! definitely. I think you should paint them a dark brown or like stain it. which would look really good against the tan walls. definitely!! =) looks like fun! i love projects!
