Today marks 19 weeks into my pregnancy!
Here I am at 19 weeks. I honestly feel like the shape and size of my stomach changes all day. Some moments its sticking noticeably further out then usual, and then an hour later the bump disappears. Kevin and I took our weekly photo and this one seemed to capture baby boy sitting in just the right spot to make me pop more than I usually do. This is my first baby so I honestly don't know when that bump is supposed to permanently pop and make it more obvious to people I'm pregnant and not over weight. I compare myself to the adorable girls at work who are just weeks ahead of me and think, 'my baby must be tiny'. At my doctors appointment on Tuesday the nurse said I had actually lost weight since my first visit. That kind of worried me but she assured me everything looks good and sometimes that happens. The nurse also reminded me that my baby weighs just about half of a pound. So crazy he is still so tiny.
I work with some amazing women at work, a lot of whom are already mommies and they have assured me soon enough my belly will pop out! I am actually anxiously awaiting that time.
I cannot believe next week I will be half way done and a few short months after that I will finally get to meet my SON!
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend. The husband is golfing this afternoon with some buddies. I have a few hours to make up at the office then I might sneak away for some baby shopping.
I am looking for lots of fun things I can use for the nursery! I cannot wait to see the guest room transform to something maybe like this:

Any readers have thoughts on Nursery "MUST HAVES" I should keep my eye out for? Let me know.
Happy Weekend Readers!

You are so adorable! I'm so excited for you two :) love you, miss you!
ReplyDeleteI really love having a rocker in our nursery. My favorite things though are the personal touches-things I made or Jordan picked out. I would just remember to have fun, and do whatever you want! It's so much fun putting together a nursery together.
ReplyDeleteI agree wth Jessica... A good rocker for you is a great thing to have... You can sit there during the night and take care of baby... A plug in diaper wipe warmer was GREAT... keeps the baby from being shocked silly from a cold wipe....SO excited for you.... don't be concerned about the size of your "bump"... it will come soon enough... trust me! love you so much baby girl! XOXOX
ReplyDeleteSo we only use the nursery for the changing table right now :) But make sure you have a really comfy rocker! We got a rocker/recliner at JC Penney, much more comfortable than those gliders. I slept in it for the first 2 weeks with him, and now I spend most of my day rocking him and nursing him in it! Also, we love the Arms Reach Cosleeper, the Sleep Sheep white noise maker, and of course... get a wipe warmer! He screams when I use cold wipes! That and the ERGO & a good pump are all I really use!
ReplyDeleteOh & before my shower I had a couple different people look at my registry to see what I should add/change. It helped A LOT! It can be so overwhelming. So if you need someone, let me know! There are just little things you'd never think of.
ReplyDeleteKyla, for sure you have nothing to worry about. With my first baby, some people still couldn't tell I was pregnant at 6 months. That's the way it is with first babies. And then one day, you wake up and you're huge. :) Enjoy it, because by the time you have your third or fourth baby, your stomach starts popping out during the first trimester. When I was pregnant with Fitz (#4), I had a lady I work with ask me at 9 weeks if I was pregnant.
ReplyDeleteSo I was going to comment very similar to Jessica...When I was pregnant with my first I had the same feelings and no one could tell I was pregnant forever and I just wanted to be a "cute pregnant lady" and I got this same advise from many people but didn't appreciate it until now with my third...truly, ENJOY staying small for a while. I looked like you at 19 weeks with my first but looked like you at 8 weeks with my third. Now I'm 24 weeks and according to how I looked with my first I feel like I could deliver tomorrow. After this your body just knows what to do and snaps into gear fast. Enjoy the smallness lady! You will have more and you will wish like crazy you could look like you did right now:-)
ReplyDeletecongrats on a boy! Boys are awesome and I would know! LOL
ReplyDeleteKyla, just a few thoughts. :) First, you are so adorable, I enjoyed reading your post! Second, don't worry about the weight thing. I didn't gain any wait at all with my first. The Dr. was really worried and kept lecturing me on eating so I ate and ate and ate, all good healthy stuff but still. I ended up gaining 65 lbs all in the last trimester. lol It'll come, as long as you are eating right. :) Third, I LOVE the baby bags, you know, those nightgowns with the elastic at the bottom. They are such a life saver in the middle of the night when you are changing diapers. Snaps, sleep deprivation, and darkness just don't go together. :) Have fun decorating though!! I love the one you have picked out! Would love to see some pictures once you have it all done. Have fun! :-)
