Tuesday afternoon we had our twenty week ultrasound.
Finally he looks like a little human being.
Isn't he ADORABLE?!
This ultrasound was specifically for the nurses to measure baby and make sure that he is growing properly.
Lindsey, the amazing ultrasound tech who is always the one we see at Dr. J's office, performed the exam and again proved to be one of my favorite nurses!
She started right in measuring him beginning with the size if his tiny little head, then his arm and leg bones. It was such a good feeling every time she would say; "that looks perfect".
I honestly was a little worried going in to the ultrasound because I have not gained ANY weight (i mean not even a pound) during this pregnancy. I realize the baby is only 11 oz right now, however I had brewed up in my little mind that me not getting bigger might mean he was going to be smaller then he was supposed to be at this point.
Again, Lindsey assured us everything looked perfect. She pointed out his femur bone, just the size of toothpick right now. Also, his stomach, his brain, his little heart with all four valves and we even got to see a special shot to see the blood flowing through his tiny body. One head, two arms with two hands, two legs and two feet. Best news so far for mommy and daddy to be!
We were able to have the ultrasound recorded on a DVD. It was important to me because I wanted to remember that moment and also be able to share the video with my parents and other family members who wanted to see. I am especially excited to show my grandma and I think that is kind of cool because technology has changed so much since she had her seven sons, that I think she will totally get a kick out of seeing the baby inside me!
The whole ultrasound was 30 minutes, so I have edited it below (and added some music) for those who would like to see baby boy Ford.
Thanks again to everyone who continues to love and support us during this new and exciting time for our little family.
Have a lovely weekend readers!
