A new week.
I'm grateful for each Sunday I have.
It brings closure to another seven days come and gone.
It brings hope to do better, do more and be happier during the upcoming week.
I look forward to the things the children and I have planned during our days.
Since it's been a while since I've written, I figured I could play catch up over the next few posts.
We have done so many things as a family and with our children that I hate not having written it down or shared.
Let's start where we left off. Sweet Hayden turned ONE back in February and we have done so many things with our now, TWO toddlers.
(Say that out loud. It's CRAZY!)
Everyone knows that I love a reason to celebrate... any reason, and holidays are a fabulous reason to celebrate.
The Real Kind and the Not Real Kind.
These last three months we have had plenty of holidays to celebrate.
We started with Valentines Day.
A new haircut for Hunter, goodies for the kiddies, some serious cuddle time with Super Shelley (what the kids are calling Grandma now), flowers and a Pedi for me from Kevin and then a special treat dinner with my parents at the amazing La Jolla Groves in Provo.
Next was Dr Suess' Birthday. See, not a real holiday but of course we did something.
Green Eggs and Ham for dinner and a new bedtime story book.
Simple, but acknowledged.
Then there was St. Patricks Day.
This is one of my favorite "not real" holidays.
Growing up it was one of the most fun holidays, and O'Malley the leprechaun continues to be a tradition now with my children.
Some say I may go a little "extreme" on the leprechaun bit, but to see the joy, wonder and excitement on Hunter's face as he explores the house after an O'Malley visit is priceless.
This year I even had little O'Malley helpers since my cousins Elizabeth and Alexa were visiting from Sacramento.
A short 19 days later, we were celebrating Easter.
Easter is one of my FAVORITE holidays.
This year Easter fell on General Conference weekend. A weekend members of our church get to listen to living prophets speak.
General Conference and Easter Sunday all in one weekend made for a wonderful holiday.
Again, for the Easter portion, I probably went a little "away from the true meaning" with my Christmas sized Easter Baskets but the kids were delighted.
We had Easter dinner at my Aunt & Unlce's in Ogden followed by an Easter Egg hunt.
It was a wonderful holiday indeed.
Our last holiday celebrated so far this year was Earth Day just back on April 22nd.
I feel it's important to teach the kids about the earth.
From its creation to how we can do our part and help it's creatures, trees, rivers, roads and air stay clean.
A two and a half year old and 15 month old aren't terribly excited about saving trees but they sure loved making bird feeders and coloring pictures!
What are some of your favorite holidays?
The Real Kind and Not Real Kind?
Stay tuned for more upcoming holidays with FordOlogy.
Mothers Day, Memorial Day, Fathers Day, Hunters Birthday and the Fourth of July all happening this summer!
