How We Wore It // Darker Fall Tones

It's that time of month again. How We Wore It Wednesday has channelled its inner Halloween and gone DARK! 

This months inspiration comes from Style Lately. The gorgeous gingham top from Zara paired with the dark skinnies and the pointed toe heels  makes for the perfect outfit to match the mood of these dreary overcast, 60-ish degrees days.

Here's my take on it: Gingham isn't a popular print in my wardrobe but I did find an old scarf that I love. Paired with the printed scarf I went with a casual black and white look inspired by Style Lately's black and white top. Is the old saying "You can't wear white after labor day" still valid? If so, I'm throwing that rule out the window. My rule is "you can't wear white after it starts snowing" because with two kids the beautiful fresh white powder turns into a brown muddy mess. These white ripped jeans from Old Navy are the ONLY pair of white bottoms I own and I absolutely love them.  My black long sleeve shirt, also from Old Navy, is a great fit and can be worn on it's own or under a sweater if you need to dress it up.

One of my favorite parts of this photo shoot was my handsome little photographer. 

How adorable is he?  Thats what happens when you realize your hubby will be home from work WELL after the sun goes down and you've been on vacation the last 11 days. I would say my 3 year old did pretty good huh?  Of course there were a few outtakes.
