Operation Hot Mom

Yesterday marked DAY 1 of Operation Hot Mom, my 30 day challenge to get my body back in shape after baby.
It's been 4 weeks, and I figured that is long enough for me to "recover".
During the last 4 weeks, with no physical activity, I made it almost back to my post baby weight (4lbs over)
My goal for the first 30 days is to hit a specific weight and body fat percentage.
I have mapped out an exact workout plan for each day and will track and watch my food intake.
I am hoping that I can hit these goals and that after the 30 days I can continue to work on my health and stay in shape.
It has always been important to me to make sure I am healthy and in shape so I can have energy to keep up with my children and every day life.
I also want to make sure my husband still finds me SEXY.

I am very excited for the next 30 days to see my progress.
Here I am, 4 weeks POST baby, Day 1 of 30 day challenge.
This is PURE motivation. Yuck. Get rid of that Gut.
What tips do you readers have on eating healthy? Meal ideas, snack ideas?? I have a "plan" in place but always interested to hear what has worked for others.
(Especially for yummy healthy meals. I LOVE a good meal)

Wish me Luck everyone.
Watch for weekly updates on my progress and more.

Also Enjoy Some picture of the week :)

  1. Already back to your weight?? Danggg! I'm not even there at 6 months! Just take it slow. You are supposed to wait at least 6 weeks before you start exercising. I tried at 5 weeks and really hurt myself- your body just needs extra time for your insides to heal. You can start passing clots really easily. The other thing is that if you are breastfeeding it can make your supply really low fast. I thought it was annoying when people told me to take it slow, but I learned my lesson the hard way ;( You look AMAZING, just remember that :)

  2. I second Ashley's statement. Remember I have been there 3 times now. It DOES go away, I promise. I thought it never would never with my first, but it did plus an extra 15 lb. I have found the BEST thing is weight watchers. It allows you to still have whatever you want but lose weight the healthy way. Ryan and I are foodies. We cook ALL THE TIME, but if you keep track of the points it helps you live a healthy lifestyle and lose the weight. Breastfeeding helps tons but PLEASE don't try and do it too fast because like Ashley said, it really will decrease your milk supply and just like when you were pregnant you really want what is right and healthy for your baby, so give yourself a break. Work at it but stay healthy and have a perspective with it. I HATE the saying "It took 9 months to put it on so it will take 9 months to get it back". That is not true, but it does take a good 3-4 months if doing it healthy for baby and mommy. Love you girl and I feel your pain in wanting to get rid of it all and be sexy for your sexy hubby, because we both have them! But guess what, you WILL get there so relax, work hard but healthy and enjoy the ride:-)

  3. I need to get on this sexy mom operation too! I will the third the comments about breasfeeding...when Gavin was three weeks my milk simply suddenly slowed down a ton and I realized I wasn't eating enough...sooo what has worked for me is eating often but small and healthy. Make sure to stock up on fruits and veggies in your fridge....and make sure to splurge and have some ice cream sometimes because you deserve it... You are working very hard to keep little man happy! Keep up the good work this is not easy...I know all too well...and I cannot wait to be feeling good and sexy again...it's been way to long!!

  4. I agree about taking it slow, but reasonable. I would suggest for the first bit is to focus on your core muscles. Do pushups, all types of crunches, and hold plank position. Doing that wasn't enough to push me beyond what I was capable of, but it helped with the baby area. My muscles don't come together after babies unless I do that.

For yummy foods, I love to have veggies around, if you have lots of broccoli, or cucumbers you can eat those until you are full and then not worry about the calories. Also drink about 3-4 liters of water a day. Drinking that much will help so your milk supply doesn't get low, and it will help your body get back into it's shape.

Good luck! We are rooting for you, even if it doesn't sound like it. Be willing to cut back if your milk supply drops, but if not, go for it! Have fun!

P.S. Kevin thinks you're hot right now. It's the truth.

  5. Kyla honey, please take it slow. Your insides are still recovering. As a new mom you're working in ways you've never worked before, your sleep is crazy, and as much as you want it right now, it's kind of risky to put your body (and your brain) under that much stress.

Be gentle. Be healthy, make good decisions, and don't forget to be happy with yourself for what you have accomplished. You just gave your son a new body! That's a big deal.

It might be a little soon to exercise. Eat well, sleep much, and walk a little if you are up to it. Take time for you, too. Keep healthy thoughts in the back of your mind. It will come off before you know it. :-)
