Happy Birthday to America and My Momma!
It was a very relaxed holiday for the Ford's this year. Not TOO much you can do with an 11 day old baby on an oxygen tank.
We didn't go to any parades, or parties with our closest friends and we didn't light off any fireworks (which I probably wouldn't do anyways since Utah is burning all around us), however we had a lovely holiday just the same as a new family of three.
Baby Hunter decided that he wanted to be up during the night (hopefully this nocturnal thing of his won't last too long) and so mommy and daddy slept in until almost 10 this morning. Daddy made an awesome 4th of July breakfast and we spent the afternoon hanging out around the house.
Dad was able to sneak off for some golfing this evening and mom and baby cuddled on the couch (our favorite thing to do).
We had yummy Steak and Veggie kabobs for dinner and a yummy festive dessert.
Today is also my mother's birthday! I hate being so far away and not getting to celebrate her big day with her! For years when I was growing up, my Grandpa Smith would host a HUGE 4th of July party at his house and I always felt like my mom was the guest of honor (every year) because it was her birthday! We would always sing and have a big cake and it was always such a special day.
Happy Birthday Momma/Glammy! We hope you had an incredible birthday! We thought about you all day and wished we could be celebrating with you!
