Today Little Hunter had his two month check-up with Dr. M
He is weighing in at 10 lbs 14 oz (which is HUGE according to us) but only in the 13th percentile.
He is measuring in at 21.5 inches (which is what most babies are usually born at - reminder he was only 18inches when he was born) putting him way at the bottom in the 1.51st percentile.
His head is measuring 15.5 inches, putting him right in the 51.48th percentile.
-In other two month check-up news:
Flat head. Caused by his position in the womb and muscles on one side of the neck being stronger, which means more stretching for baby H and training him to roll that head to the left instead of ALWAYS the right.
Herniated Belly Button. Doctor says it protrudes just about an inch out and is causing no pain or discomfort and is normal. Can last up to 3 YEARS of age. (I was expecting a few months)
| In case you were wondering what it looks like. |
Colic. Which I DO NOT Agree with. We (really meaning AUNTIE KENNA) mentioned how little Hunter is REALLY gassy and how sometimes after he eats he whines a little and kicks his legs and once he gets the "air" out he's fine. The Dr said that little fussiness after eating is a mild, small case of Colic. Yuck. That word is so awful. Hunter's happy outweighs his fussy TEN FOLD so I don't acknowledge that at all.
The doctor said that he looks great and that he is a handsome and happy baby.
I
echoed his kind words and proudly said how great of a baby he is and
that he never cries and isn't fussy (despite what Auntie McKenna
thinks).
No sooner had I sung my son's praises, the doctor began his exam and little Hunter started crying.
He
doesn't like his ears to be poked, or his tongue to be held down, and
especially doesn't like his head being forced to turn to the left.
Hunter also had to get two shots today.
It's amazing how as a mother, watching my baby get poked by a needle (or two) gave me that stinging pain as if I was the one getting poked.
Luckily I knew today's visit was going to be rough for the little guy so I starved him (just by 45 minutes) so I could give him a bottle as soon as we were done.
That definitely did the trick and as soon as he ate he was back to his happy handsome self.
He's been doing so good all afternoon.
So proud of my little (getting bigger) baby!
So fun to see him growing and thriving.
He is doing all the things a two month old should be doing.
Holding his head, pushing his legs against anything, smiling like a mad man and coo-ing all the time.
Way to go baby Hunter.
Love you to the moon & back.
He's getting so big! Super cute smiley pictures!
ReplyDeleteAdelle has the neck problem too and we have been going to physical therapy for 4 months because of it. Hopefully hunters neck isn't as stubborn as Adelles!
ReplyDeleteIf he's really gassy and you are nursing there might be some foods he doesn't like. I know that chocolate can cause a lot of babies to have gas. just a thought :)
