How We Wore It// Summer Cool

This months inspiration comes from Julia Engel who blogs at Gal Meets Glam
I was excited for a little Northern California style and LOVE how Julia is leading the blogger fashion world back in my home state.
I loved Julia's cool colored shorts and that gorgeous knit top paired with those stunning heels.
I love how a pair of heels can step up any casual look.
Her hat is the perfect accessory for an out and about with the gals summer look.
The colors of her whole outfit would actually go perfectly with my fair complexion so I may need to add a few of her pieces to my wardrobe.

I will  be honest though when I say that I had NOTHING in my closet remotely close to Julia's awesome look.
So I LOVED the chance I got to shuffle through my closet and find what I would wear to be "Summer Cool", similar to June's How We Wore It look.

Here's my take on it:
This summer my GO TO choice for most days was a skirt.
I don't know why I haven't found a love for skirts outside of Sunday sooner, because skirts are versatile, easy on and ready to go.
This light weight black skirt is a perfect piece for any closet and can be paired with a solid or printed top.
My top was actually a thrifted piece, originally from Cotton on, but it's so cool.
This cotton shirt has a fun pattern and I love the lace along the sleeves and sides.
This is a crop shirt and I have to be careful when I wear it to have a tank underneath or a high waisted bottom like the skirt I wore in the photo shoot.
My Shoes are probably my FAVORITE part of this outfit.
Kevin brought back these flip flops from his Spring trip to El Salvador and I have been DYING for a chance to get to share them in an outfit post.
I love the detail of these handmade shoes and flip flops are obviously a must for cool summer looks.
I sometimes have pain in my feet, so I'm always a first choice flip flop vs a heel.
My bag is another handmade item. This piece I got on my trip to Mexico in 2010. I take this bag with me often when I don't wanna carry around my diaper bag because it has lots of room inside for the things I need and I love the shoulder strap look.
As you can probably tell from my repeat hair style that this summer I've left it in a braid overnight, then let it out and pulled it back in a clip. I really need to find a new style, or maybe a new cut!

a little Kim K booty going on and a photobomber
