G&S Family Reunion (Part ii)

After an amazing few days at The Ranch, our family headed back to my parents house to do some laundry, re-coop and pack our bags for the next part of the trip to the Cabin in stunning Lake Tahoe.

(OK so maybe we got massages and ate a yummy sushi lunch instead of laundry but it was worth it)

We arrived to the cabin in Lake Tahoe and I was immediately taken back to the many times our family had been to this cabin before with our sweet brother.
It was so special to be able to be having this reunion without him physically but being completely aware of his spiritual presence.
Hunter spent many vacations at the Cabin with Peter and his family and our family was lucky to be able to make memories of our own there also over the years.

Right out front of the Cabin is a giant boulder with tons of names of the visitors who had been there.
It was really neat to see Hunter's name still visible on the top.

It was a great way to feel how strong the family unit still is even during this temporary time apart from our brother.

Our first night in Tahoe was spent eating yummy pizza's from BobDog Pizza followed by some fun games back at the cabin.

The next morning we enjoyed the beautiful outdoors and slowly getting ready before we headed out for a day at Pope Beach.
We spent hours down at the lake and it was absolutely perfect.
We built sand castles, daddy mermaids and rented paddle boards which EVERYONE tried.
It was so much fun.

The afternoon was perfect and then literally, as we pulled out of the parking lot, it started to pour rain so we headed back to the Cabin, with a VERY worn out baby, to hunker down and wait out the storm.

Our last day we drove into town and walked around all the shops before heading back to the beach to soak up some last minute rays.
(And maybe play around in the water like little kids)

We went to dinner as a family one last time as a family that evening before we all headed back to our homes the following morning.

It was truly an incredible week.
I am so grateful for amazing parents who hosted this lovely reunion.
I am so blessed to be part of such a loving, kind, funny, stubborn, adventurous group and I am especially grateful for the eternal nature of our family.
I am so grateful for the spirit that participated in this week that allowed us all to feel Hunter right there with us as we had our first reunion.
Thank you Athey Family for opening up your homes to our family so we could all be together.

I cannot wait for the next reunion and look forward to them for years to come as we get a few more brother in laws, nieces and nephews and even maybe some tag-alongs
(we loved having you there Steph and Ryan).

Happy Sunday Readers.

A few random photos from all our driving (almost 2000 miles total) dinner dates and hanging at my parents house.

These two kids celebrated their 2nd Wedding Anniversary this week.
