It was Fall of 2002 when our family first experienced a Del Campo High School Homecoming week, and for the last 11 consecutive years our family has been apart of the crazy, exhausting, amazing experience.
As my youngest sister Haley prepares to graduate in June, I made sure I was there to partake in The Goold Family's final Halls week.

Hunter and I flew out to Sacramento on Tuesday morning and immediately jumped into the business of halls.
Haley, ASB Vice President, was busy getting things ready for her Entry Way responsibility.
It was so much fun over the next three days to be taken back to that place and time that I was so involved in back when I was at Del Campo.
Now, Del Campo is different from most high schools homecoming week, as they do halls instead of floats.
What this means is that each class chooses a theme and then transforms an entire hallway into that theme.
(The best way to describe the halls after they are transformed is that they are like a DISNEYLAND RIDE)
They look so amazing and have lots of rooms that show off their theme plus a grand entrance and a football room.
The rooms and decor all have to be hand made out of materials such as cardboard, paper, paint, tin cans, tubing, and so many other products all by the students.
The students have two days where they work 3 hours and one day where they work 6 hours after school on building their halls.

On the fourth day they get to campus at 5am to set up the whole thing.
At 8am the halls are walked through and judged.
At 9am the whole student body gets to walk through.
By 10am everything is torn down and thrown in the trash.
It's a week full of emotion, time, creativeness, and sweat that in 30 minutes is ripped apart and tossed out.
And somehow, the crazy 4 days is all still worth it.
The Senior Class this year chose the theme: "Hallidays".
Each room reflected different holidays and the Seniors did a great job.
Such a great job that they won 1st place in the judging of the halls.

I unfortunately didn't get pictures of the Freshmen hall but there hall was actually REALLY amazing.
Good Work Freshmen.
The Sophomores theme was: Candyland.
Juniors theme was: Jukebox.
Each Class did a really great job.
It is always so much fun to see how creative the students get in making their themes come to life.
It was a wonderful experience to have Hunter be apart of this week also.
It was so crazy to see my son walking around my high school campus.
But he loved it and I am so glad I got to share this little part of my high school experience with him
(Even though he won't remember it ... Thank goodness for Pictures)

Friday Morning it was back to DC for the Rally and announcing of the Halls winners.
Del Campo Rally's are always a blast.
The rally's are full of energy and second to none school spirit.
Friday night it was off to the BIG Homecoming Game.
My dad drove my Uncles Car in the parade and Hunter & I got to ride in the Firetruck.
(Luckily we know a guy UP THERE in the Sac Metro Fire Department)
Saturday Night was the BIG Dance for Haley.
She decided to go "sans-man" to the Homecoming Dance and took her great friend Logan.
They both looked amazing.
What a FABULOUS week to end an 11 year tradition.
Thanks for many great homecoming memories Del Campo.

PS. THIS is what Homecoming halls does to a person
(ESPECIALLY A STUDENT GOVERNMENT PERSON)
