Toddler Tidbits: Homemade Crayons

After a few days of sitting around not doing much (mostly because I was recovering from a fabulous weekend with family), I felt it was time for another "extra special" fun activity for Hunter & Mom time.
I have seen this activity on Pinterest and then saw another blogger mama do it with her kids this week, so I figured we'd give it a try.
Enjoy!

Multi-Colored Fish Shaped Crayons.

We didn't actually have a box of crayons laying around so we picked up some for $.50 at DI this week while we were thrifting.
We unwrapped the crayons (which took a RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF TIME so we only used 6 colors), broke them into a few small pieces and then put them in a silicone fished shaped baking sheet.

We baked them at 250 degrees until the crayons were completely melted
(about 10-15 minutes)

Let them cool for a few minutes and then Ta-Da...
Fun Shaped Multi-Colored Crayons!

Now Hunter has some fun tools to color with.
We had such a fun time making them.
Hunter loves to watch things in the oven so it was the PERFECT activity to keep him entertained throughout.

For this craft I used:
-Box of old Crayola Crayons.
-Fish Shaped Baking Sheet
(from Ikea)

*DisClaimer*
The Tails Broke Off of each fish when I took them out of the baking sheet.
I may not have let them cool long enough or it was just the small fish tails that were easily cracked.
Next time we will try a different shape and see how it goes!
